SciSpace's Peer Review agent asks three reviewer personas to rate a manuscript out of 10 on novelty, clarity, statistical rigor and impact, then merges them into a meta-review with a recommendation. That is a real pre-submission read, and it comes back in minutes. What it is not is a fixed rubric: personas produce opinions, and opinions from a fresh run are not directly comparable to the last one.
Calibre is the other design. One score out of 100, eight categories, the same weighting on every paper and every version, with a strengths-and-issues ledger naming what cost you the points. That is what makes a second pass worth doing: the number moves, and you can see which category moved it. For the submission decision itself, that comparability is the reason to pick Explore Science.
SciSpace's Reference Checker validates DOIs, removes duplicates and enforces journal citation style, and its Citation Context Analyzer classifies how published papers cite each other: whether a citation supports, contrasts or critiques a study. Both are useful, and neither is pointed at your own reference list.

Yes, up to a point. Its Similarity Checker runs a direct document-to-document comparison with a diff-style view and tracks similarity change by source and section across revisions. What it does not do is rescore the manuscript on a fixed rubric each time, so you see text that moved rather than quality that moved. Explore Science reapplies the same eight categories to every version and shows the change in each.
SciSpace. It carries PRISMA flow diagrams, screening forms, deduplication, inter-rater agreement statistics and Zotero import, and Explore Science offers none of that. Explore Science is for the manuscript that comes out the other end.
No, though you should not need both for the submission decision. Keep whatever you use for finding and reading papers, and bring the finished draft to Explore Science for the scored review, the reference verification and the version-to-version comparison.
